Beth Poppas MSN, RN, CCRN-K, PCCN-K, NPD-BC, GERO-BC, CNEcl

Clinical Nurse Educator

Beth Poppas has thirty-one years of experience in adult critical care, including roles as a staff nurse and a progressive care clinical care educator, as well as faculty member in numerous associate degree and bachelor’s degree nursing programs. She has worked in Coronary Intensive Care, Cardiovascular ICU, Emergency Department, and a variety of general cardiac and medical ICU travel assignments throughout the United States. She practiced at Durham, NC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Duke University, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, AZ, First Health of the Carolinas, Johns Hopkins University Hospital and George Washington University Hospital. She currently works as a Clinical Nurse Educator in the Inova Schar Heart and Vascular Institute at Inova Fairfax Medical Center in Falls Church, Virginia. She received her BSN in 1992 from Barton College in Wilson, NC and her MSN in Nursing Education in 2013 from Liberty University. Beth initially received her CCRN certification in 1998, and her CCRN-K certification in 2021. In 2021, she also obtained certification in the following: PCCN-K, GERO-BC, and NPD-BC. In 2022, she obtained the NLN Certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator (CNEcl) certification. Beth is the proud spouse of an active-duty Army officer since 2000 and has three teenage children.
